In-app notifications
The bell in your top bar is your own live feed — an unread count and a list of what needs your attention, just for you.
Your personal feed
Each person sees only their own notifications.
- Open the bell for the list; click an item to jump to what it's about and mark it read.
- Use Mark all read to clear the lot.
- Nothing new? It says “You're all caught up.”
- The feed keeps your most recent 50 items — older ones age out of view.
What lands here
Four kinds, each with its own icon, deliberately restrained — alerting once and staying quiet rather than pinging on every sweep.
| Kind | What triggers it |
|---|---|
| Serving | Booking is due; Line has no one serving (at most every 30 minutes per line); Line is full; Someone joined your line (the first guest after an empty line); a low rating alert once set; a visitor transferred to your line. |
| Chat | A direct message or an @-mention for you in team chat. |
| Billing | A failed payment, a disputed payment, or a recorded refund (owner). |
| System | “Message delivery is failing” — WhatsApp/email aren't going out because the delivery provider looks to be down. Latched to once an hour, only for a genuine outage. A single visitor's failed message flags that visitor on the queue instead, so staff call their name. |
There's no per-kind mute. You can't switch off just one of these. The feed is kept low-volume by design instead.
Not the same as visitor messages
This bell is for you and your team, separate from the WhatsApp and email messages sent to visitors, which have their own switches and their own send log.
A "needs attention" item also shows on your dashboard. Like an unstaffed counter with people waiting — so you'll catch it whether you're watching the bell or the board.
