What to do first, by role

turnda has three roles, and each has a different first day.

Find yours below and jump straight to what matters — you don't need to read the pages meant for someone else. Owners build and pay for the account. Managers run a location day-to-day. Staff sign in and call people. Roles are checked by the server, so you only ever see what's yours.

A manager not yet placed at a branch A calm page: “You're not assigned to a location yet.” Nothing is wrong with the account — the owner just hasn't added them to a branch yet.

If you're the owner

You own the account — billing, brand, every location, the team and account-wide defaults. Your job is to get the first line live and hand the day-to-day to your managers.

  1. Create the account and your first location.
  2. Set up a line. The fastest route is a simple counter, or match your trade — a clinic journey or a salon.
  3. Add your brand. So it's on every screen and poster — Business branding.
  4. Invite your team and hand out roles.
  5. Go live — start the trial to open the line. Go-live checklist · Billing.

Only you can change account-wide things — billing, the account brand, account defaults, and who manages what.

One exception. The welcome message, colours and design on a branch's own visitor pages is something a manager can touch by default — you can switch that off, but it isn't an owner-only lever.

If you manage a location

A manager (or a location-manager assigned to specific branches) runs a place day-to-day — its lines, visitor pages, TV boards, bookings, staff and reports — but not account-wide levers like billing.

  • One exception: the account-wide Devices list of paired screens stays owner/account-manager only, even at their own branch.
  • What you're allowed to change is itself set by the owner — see Manager permissions.
  1. Tune the line — serving order, hours, capacity — from the Locations hub.
  2. Set up stations so staff can sign in and serve.
  3. Run your team at this location — assign and invite.
  4. Watch the day — live status and what needs attention — on the dashboard.
  5. Handle bookings, if you take them. Taking a booking.

If you're staff

Staff serve people — that's the whole job, and it's the easiest. You don't touch settings.

  1. Open the Queue and call the next person. If the line seems stuck, see "Nobody's being called".
  2. Sign in at your station. Optional, but it shows who's at each counter and tags your own serves.
  3. Take bookings at the desk, if your shop uses them. Taking a booking.
  4. See your own numbers — My Metrics.
Wear two hats? A small-shop owner is often on the desk too — that's fine. You keep every owner power and serve like anyone else.
