Set up a clinic: reception → doctor → pharmacy

This recipe builds a three-stop clinic visit — reception → doctor → pharmacy — as one guided journeyA visit that passes through several stops in order (e.g. reception → consult → pharmacy). Each stop is its own line.. The patient joins once and keeps a single number and tracking link the whole way, advancing stop by stop.

Owner Where: Locations → your line 3 min read
Quick answer. A clinic is one lineA single waiting line inside a location — the thing people join. Also called an area. set to SEVERAL STOPS. You make the line, turn on the extra stops in its Line settings → Setup, give each stop its own staff and hours, then go live. About 10 minutes.

The plan

You need one thing before you start — a location (your clinic). Everything else is built below. Here's the shape you're aiming for.

  1. 1Reception
Where patients join and are checked in
  2. 2Doctor
The consult stop — often one or more rooms
One visit, three stops — the patient never re-joins a new queue at each desk.

Each of these is a STOP — a real serving point with its own stations, hours and serving rule. Because it's one journey, a patient never re-joins a new queue at each desk.

1. Create the line

  1. Open Locations and, on your clinic, choose Add another line (or the first line if it's a fresh location).
  2. Name it for the WHOLE VISIT. For example “Patient visit” or “Clinic” — not just reception, because this one line represents the entire journey.

2. Add the stops

  1. On that line, open Line settings and go to the Setup section.
  2. Under the flow choice, switch from One stop to Several stops. The line is now a journey, and its first stop is reception.
  3. Add the next stops IN THE ORDER PATIENTS PASS THROUGH THEM — add Doctor, then Pharmacy. Reorder or remove any stop from the same place.
Prefer a bird's-eye editor? Owners can also build and reorder the whole journey on the dedicated Journeys page — name it, pick the clinic, and add the stops in order. Same result; use whichever you like.

3. Set up each stop

A journey serves well only when every stop can actually serve. For EACH of reception, doctor and pharmacy:

For every stop

What to doWhy
Add its stations One station per place a patient is served — reception desks, each doctor's room, the pharmacy counter — so everyone can see who's at each room and serves are tagged to the right one.
Set its hours A stop that's closed pauses politely — the patient is held and told, rather than sent to a desk that's shut.
Pick its serving rule Reception is usually keep it fairA serving rule that lets a long-waiting walk-in move ahead, while still serving due bookings first.; the doctor stop can be appointments firstA serving rule where a due booking is always called ahead of waiting walk-ins. if you book consults.
Choose which stops message the patient Each stop has a Notify switch — turn it on to send a heads-up when the patient reaches that stage, or leave it off for a quiet hand-off (e.g. reception → doctor next door).

To open a specific stop's controls, open that stop from the Setup list — its own Line settings appear, scoped to just that stage.

4. Go live & test

Setup done, the line goes live once your clinic is subscribed — start the 30-day free trial (card upfront) from the setup-status card.

  1. Run one test patient through.
  2. Join at reception, get called and advance to the doctor, then to the pharmacy, and finish.
  3. Watch the single tracking link update at each stop — that's the whole journey working.
“A journey needs at least 2 stages.” A one-stop line can't be a journey — add the doctor stop (and pharmacy) before saving. And if a patient seems stuck between stops, check the NEXT stop is open and someone is calling there.
