The setup checklist
The Get started screen is your launch pad. For a brand-new business it's a short, one-screen-at-a-time guide — not an independent checklist you can tick in any order. For a business already live, it's the fast path to opening another branch.
Three things and you can take your first customer. Tell us about your place, open your queue, then try it yourself — about 5 minutes, and you can stop any time because turnda saves as you go.
What it tracks
- Get started lives in the owner sidebar. A brand-new owner is sent straight to it — it's their actual first screen, not one only a curious owner finds.
- Once you're live, it stays in the sidebar as the fast path to opening another branch — it offers to copy an existing line's setup, or walk the full guide again for one set up differently.
- While you're going through it, each screen has a Continue, and you can stop and come back — your answers are saved as you type them, so a closed tab never loses your place.
The screens, in order
There's no picking and choosing the order — each screen leads to the next:
| The screen asks for | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Your language, then your business name | What visitors read on your pages and posters. |
| Walk-ins, bookings, or both | Decides the questions that follow and the queue's default serving rule. |
| A name for your queue and your branch | What shows on the join page and the ticket. More in Set up your first line. |
| How many serving points you run at once | Counters, chairs, desks or bays — so the queue screen can show who is being served where. |
| A card, to open the queue | Free for your trial's full length, then billed per branch per month. Cancel any time. |
| A go at it yourself | Scan your own QR and watch the join happen — the same thing your first customer will do. |
| Your colour and logo | Branding on the pages you just built. |
After that comes a page of extras — never a gate, just a list to dip into. Skip all of it and the queue still works.
- Inviting your team — solo? there's an "I work on my own" option.
- Pairing a lobby screen.
- Opening hours and a capacity limit.
- Letting people join before they arrive.
- Asking for a rating.
- What the join page asks for.
Once you're live
- Get started in the sidebar now opens the "another branch" screen instead of the first-run guide — pick an existing line to copy its setup from, or choose to set the new one up differently and run the full guide again.
- The running count of what's done, the Fix › shortcuts and the "One step left to go live" message all belong to Locations, not to Get started.
- Each location on Locations carries its own setup-status card — rings for what's Set, what's on a safe Default, and what still needs attention.
"One step left to go live" is on Locations, not Get started. If a location's setup is done but the queue won't open, look on that location's card in Locations, not Get started: it says "One step left to go live."
The button there — "Start 30-day free trial & go live" — carries "you won't be charged until {date}" right on it. Card required, cancel any time.
