Team chat

A simple two-pane chat, right in turnda, so the team can coordinate without a separate app.

Everyone Where: Team chat 2 min read
Broadcast to everyone, to a single line, or send a direct message.

Everyone, a line, or one person

ChannelWho's in it
Everyone The whole account — every branch. Everybody reads it; only the owner posts in it.
A line's own channel One per line you run, when you have more than one.
Direct message Any teammate, one-to-one.
The quick back-channel. "Counter 3 is free" or "running behind on the walk-in line" — that's the job it does, keeping a floor in sync.

One-tap quick replies

A row of ready-made lines sits above the message box — "On my way", "One moment, please", "Handling this now", "Can you help me here?", "All good here" and "Running behind — please bear with me". Tap one and it sends straight away, so a teammate whose hands are full doesn't have to type.

  • They send to whichever conversation is open — Everyone, a line, or a direct message — the same as anything you type.
  • They follow the same posting rule as typing: if you can't post here, the quick replies are switched off too.
  • The set is fixed for everyone — it isn't something you customise per business.

Who can post

WhoWhat they can post
Everyone on the team Can read Everyone and send direct messages.
The owner Posts in Everyone — it reaches every branch, so it is the owner's channel.
Managers and staff Post in the channel of each line they work on. Everyone is read-only for them, with a short note saying why.
A manager with a message for their branch. Post it in that branch's line channel. It reaches the people who work there — and not the branches they don't.

Kept seven days

Chat is meant to be in-the-moment — messages are kept for seven days and then clear out.

  • It's a coordination tool, not a record.
  • For anything you need to keep, use the right feature — a booking note, a flag, or the activity log.
Presence shows here too. Teammates appear as Available, Away, On break or Offline — so you know whether a message will land now or wait for a shift.
