Capacity & privacy

Two jobs on one card — keep the line from over-filling, and decide how much of a visitor's name the world sees on your lobby TV. Both are per line. (The visitor's own tracker never shows a name, on any setting.)

Privacy is a spectrum. Some businesses show full names on the TV; others show numbers only. turnda lets each line choose — set it to match how sensitive your setting is.

Capacity

Setting	What it does
Capacity cap	New joins pause automatically once the line is full. People already waiting are unaffected; the join page shows “The line is full right now”. Leave it blank for no cap.
Tickets	The cap counts one per party.
People	The cap counts by headcount — for occupancy or fire limits.
Largest party size	The biggest group the join page and kiosk will accept.

A worked example A customer joining for a group of four is refused at the door if Largest party size is set to three.

What shows in public

Display on public screens — names on the lobby TV, not the tracker

Option	What it shows
Numbers only (the default)	Fully anonymous — a new line is private until you decide otherwise.
Initials + numbers	First initials alongside the number.
Names + numbers	Full names alongside the number.

This only affects the lobby TV. A visitor's own tracker never shows a name, whatever you pick here.
It's a ceiling, not a switch: the TV only shows names if its board design is also set to show them. Pick Names + numbers here and the TV can still show none, if the board design says otherwise.
The masking happens on turnda's servers, not just on the screen.
Add an optional Ticket series letter to prefix numbers, e.g. A012.
Toggle Show missed numbers on the TV so the desk can call back no-shows.

The same visitor, three privacy levels on the lobby TV — set per line. On Numbers only no name is ever sent to the screen at all (enforced on the server), so there's nothing to leak. The visitor's own tracker never shows a name either way.

Wait, ratings & letters

Setting	What it does
Show estimated wait	Gives visitors an approximate wait on their tracker.
Ask visitors to rate their visit	Collects a 1–5★ score (optionally with a written comment, and a low-rating alert). Lives in the Feedback & ratings section, not here.
Join from your website or a link	Separate from this page — the “Join the queue” link and website button live in the line's Share / Get found panel.

Names still showing after you changed this? Public displays follow this setting live, but a paired screen may cache briefly — it catches up within moments.

Let visitors pick who they wantVisitor page & privacy · Toggle Asks “Who would you like?” on the join page so a regular can request a particular person. It only appears when the line actually has staff assigned to it, so turning it on changes nothing until it does. Off keeps the join page simple where nobody has a preference. Off Join page

Ask visitors for an email codeVisitor page & privacy · Toggle Before joining, a visitor types a six-digit code we email them, so nobody can take a place with a made-up address. The email box becomes required. Anyone who can’t get a code is sent to the counter. Off Join page

Let visitors confirm with a booking codeVisitor page & privacy · Toggle Someone with a booking for today types its code on the join page and is checked in as that appointment, not as a second walk-in. With only this on, people without a booking are sent to the counter. Off Join page

Ticket number digitsVisitor page & privacy · Number Pads every ticket number out to at least this many digits, so 7 shows as 0007 at 4. It is padding, not a limit — a busy day that passes 9999 simply prints 10000 and nothing is refused or reused. 1 keeps plain numbers. Range 1–5. 1 Lobby TVTrackerJoin page

First number each dayVisitor page & privacy · Number The number the day’s first guest gets; it starts again from here every morning. Set 1001 so a new business doesn’t look like it is on guest 4. Owner & Manager can change all of these. Every row names the Line settings tab the control is on — open Locations → your line → Line settings and pick that tab. Defaults and ranges are checked against the running product on every build.
